Staff & Volunteers
Curator & Executive Assistant to President
A California native raised in Washington, Holly's education, training and passion for history is a definite asset for the Meeker Mansion Museum. After studying abroad at the University College Cork in Ireland, Holly earned her bachelors degree in Anthropology and History from the University of Denver in 2014. After interning at the Aspen Historical Society, she returned to Washington and began volunteering at Meeker Mansion. Holly joined the Meeker Mansion Museum staff in 2017 and has been working with our dedicated and experienced volunteers sharing Puyallup Valley history with the public ever since. Holly recently received recognition through the Heritage League of Pierce County for her exceptional work creating educational posts on Meeker Mansion social media accounts. She is currently leading the major re-housing project for thousands of Museum artifacts at Meeker Mansion.
Barbara serves as a Board Member of the Puyallup Historical Society and the Volunteer Coordinator of our many dedicated volunteers here at Meeker Mansion. She is a retired school teacher, Chair of our Education Committee, and continues to volunteer at a local elementary school because of her dedication to providing education for our youth. She is passionate about the role our historical society plays in preserving our local heritage and skillfully works with new volunteer recruits to evaluate enjoyable opportunities for everyone who is interested in preserving our region's legacy for future generations.
Volunteering at Meeker Mansion is a fun way to meet people and give back to our community. Whether you want to be a docent, participate in event activities, assist with restoration projects and grounds maintenance, or help with research and archiving in our extensive collection of priceless artifacts and ephemera, there's something for everyone at Meeker Mansion. With a roster of more than 70 volunteers, you can sign up for as little or as much time as you have available. Fill out the simple contact form below and our Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to you about your preferences and skills.
