Grange Display

From Produce to Hops

Our Meet Me At The Fair exhibit features vibrant displays of fruit, vegetables and hops in our "Meeker Grange" faux display. We're celebrating the Puyallup Valley "hops heritage" that included almost 100 valley farmers before the hop lice decimated the crops in the 1890s. In the hey days of the Puyallup Valley hops crops, Ezra brokered the combined crops of Puyallup Valley farmers globally by securing profitable brewery contracts with well known companies like Henry Weinhard and Guinnes.

Visit the Meeker Mansion Museum exhibits to learn why Ezra was a teetotaller and never drank alcohol, even though he grew the hops needed for brewing beer.

SKYRIDE

Seattle to Puyallup

If you attended the Seattle World's Fair

in 1962, then you may remember the

Union 76 Skyride.

But if you've Done the Puyallup since 1980,

you may also know that the Fair

purchased the Skyride and moved it to

the Fairgrounds in 1980 where millions

of people have continued to enjoy the ride

that was originally made in Switzerland.

Visit the exhibit to see our almost

life-size ceiling display.
